I fully expect this blog will develop and grow and become a potentially endless source of new inspirations and innovations for the whole community. In short, the perfect place for an R&D guy like me to spend some time.

I’m Simon Höges – compared to many of my colleagues, a relative newcomer at GKN, having joined the company in 2014. As Manager Additive Manufacturing (AM), I’m responsible for R&D within different AM technologies and I coordinate all AM technical aspects in our Innovation Center in Radevormwald.

After studying physics I completed my PhD in the medical applications of Additive Manufacturing in 2010. I started my industry career at BEGO in R&D, focusing on the use of AM to produce dental products in individualized series production. I have a degree in physics and a PhD in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University.
